1. Battery and charging system problems
Symptoms:
Fast battery discharge
Difficulty starting the engine
Periodic flashing of the charging indicator
Possible causes:
✔️ Battery wear (usually after 3-5 years)
✔️ Generator or generator belt problems
✔️ Current leaks in the on-board network (e.g. faulty multimedia module)
Solution:
Check the battery charge and terminal condition
Measure the generator voltage (normal: 13.5-14.7 V with the engine running)
Find the current leak with a multimeter
2. Ignition system malfunctions
Symptoms:
Misfires, loss of power
Engine misfires or does not start
Errors P0300–P0304 (misfires)
Possible causes:
✔️ Coil problems ignition
✔️ Oxidation of contacts in coil connectors
✔️ Blown ignition fuses
Solution:
Check the condition of the coils and replace if necessary
Clean the connectors and treat them with dielectric grease
Check the EFI MAIN and IGN fuses
3. Malfunctions in multimedia and lighting
Symptoms:
The multimedia screen does not turn on
The steering wheel buttons or dashboard do not work
The side lights or brake lights do not light
Possible causes:
✔️ Malfunction of the fuse box
✔️ Broken or damaged wiring (especially in places where they bend)
✔️ Problems with the CAN bus (if several systems are affected at once)
Solution:
Check the fuses in the cabin and under the hood
Test the multimedia and button connectors
If there are CAN errors, read the codes with an OBD2 scanner
4. Sensor and control systems
Symptoms:
Check Engine, ABS, VSC lights up
Errors related to sensors (e.g. oxygen sensor, throttle position sensor)
Possible causes:
✔️ Oxidation of sensor connectors (especially after washing or rain)
✔️ Frayed wiring (e.g. near the engine)
✔️ Malfunction of the sensors themselves
Solution:
Run OBD2 diagnostics and decipher errors
Check and clean sensor contacts
Replace faulty elements if necessary
5. Problems with the start-stop system and central lock
Symptoms:
The car does not respond to the Start/Stop button
Doors do not open from the button on the handle
The key is no longer detected by the system
Possible causes:
✔️ Dead battery in the key
✔️ Malfunction of the keyless entry antenna
✔️ Problems with the BCM module (Body Control Module)
Solution:
Replace the battery in the key (CR2032)
Reprogram the key using a dealer scanner
Check the power supply to the BCM module and its fuses
