For many, front-wheel drive is a reason not to even consider purchasing a premium business sedan. Those who are smarter, discarding snobbery, at one time made a choice in favor of the Lexus ES, not caring about the popular opinion, saying that it is a Camry clone. Life has shown that the clone is very conditional.
ES is traditionally based on the platform and power units, models popular in many countries, but significantly surpasses it not only in the quality of equipment and finishes. Dynamics, handling, ride, noise isolation - all consumer characteristics allow the ES to compete favorably against the background of the Camry. And those who understand what is at stake, instead of buying a new Toyota, are advised to take a closer look at a used XV50. Such an index is used in the sixth generation standard in 2012.
In the main Lexus, Lexus ES were sold with engines: 2.5 liters (184 hp) for the ES 250 version and a 3.5-liter V6 with 249 hp for the ES 350. After restyling in 2015 (car index) changed to XV60) it was joined by the ES 200 with an atmospheric 2-liter 150-horsepower "four". All motors work with a 6-speed automatic.
Exploring the reviews of 2GR-FE on specialized forums, you can find many complaints from car owners with similar units. But it is worth remembering that the line of cars on which the Japanese install the 2GR-FE engine is very large. The unit is widespread, so there are a lot of reviews about it.
Among the problem areas of the motor, it is worth highlighting the VVT-i lubrication system. Oil under high pressure passes through a rubber tube, which wears out after two to three years of operation. The rupture of the tube leads to the filling of the entire engine compartment of the car with oil.
Some 2GR-FE units have the property of unpleasant noises during cold start. Often this rattles the timing chain. And the usual replacement of the 2GR-FE chain does not help solve the problem. It is necessary to sort out and check the entire timing system.

Hello,
I recently purchased a 2016 Lexus ES 350 with front-end damage and am currently repairing it. I need assistance with the wiring of the Cruise Sensor module connector, which was damaged in the accident. It would be very helpful if you could help me with a diagram to show the correct wire positioning, or if you have knowledge of how they should be connected. Thank you in advance!
