Common Subaru Impreza Wiring and Electrical Problems

Ground problems – oxidation and poor contact at ground points lead to electrical failures, including headlights, starter and sensors.

Generator failure – overheating and wear of diodes cause unstable battery charging.

Ignition switch failures – wear of contacts or mechanical failure lead to problems with starting the engine.

Blown fuses and relays – often caused by a short circuit or overload of the electrical system.

Window lifter failure – failure of control buttons or motors.

Lighting problems – burnout of headlights, taillights, as well as malfunction of headlight washers.

Central lock failures – possible due to wear of solenoids or damage to wiring in the doors.

ABS system failures – oxidation of sensor contacts, wiring breakage or failures in the control unit.

Cooling fan problems – failure due to a faulty relay or breakdown of the electric motor.

Malfunction of the instrument panel – unstable sensor readings or complete shutdown due to poor contacts.
